Hanley Wood Marketing and Its Clients Win Six Pearl Awards

MINNEAPOLIS (November 12, 2013) — Hanley Wood Marketing and two of its clients were honored with six Pearl Awards for custom media excellence during a ceremony held this evening at New York City’s Highline Ballroom.

Given annually by the Custom Content Council, a custom media association, the Pearl Awards celebrate the best in custom media strategy, design and editorial. This year’s competition garnered 587 entries from 13 countries, with awards granted in 40 categories.

Hanley Wood and FedEx earned Gold in the Design: Best Special Issue category for FedEx Access,
an integrated print, digital and social media program that helps FedEx inform and inspire key audiences about how connections create innovation and foster progress around the world.

FedEx Access also earned Silver awards in the Best Integrated Print and Web Program B2B, Digital: Best Microsite, and Editorial: Best Special Issue categories.

Hanley Wood and Sherwin-Williams earned two Silver awards for Sherwin-Williams® STIR®, a print, digital and social media program that helps Sherwin-Williams better serve its interior designer and architect audiences. STIR includes a print annual magazine focused on design and color, a monthly e-newsletter, blogging and extensive audience engagement and community building via social media.

The STIR program won Silvers for Design: Best Overall Design (50,000–250,000 circulation) and Best Integrated Print and Web Program B2B. The latter award represented a tie for Silver with FedEx Access in the same category.

This is the eighth consecutive year Sherwin-Williams and Hanley Wood have won at least one Pearl Award, including Gold for Best Integrated Print and Web Program B2B in four of the past six years.
