Victoria K. Sicaras
Washington, DC, Aug 28, 2013–Concrete Surfaces, published by Hanley Wood LLC, is pleased to announce the winners in its Third Annual Polished Concrete Awards.
Several projects from around the world were entered in eight different categories. Plus, more than 2,200 online visitors voted for their favorite project to win in the Readers’ Choice Category.
The categories were Commercial, Educational, Industrial, Craftsman, Retail, Institutional, Residential, and Countertop. In some categories, judges honored projects representing both new construction and repair and rehab construction. A ninth Innovation category was also created by the judges this year to honor a vertical project featuring ground and polished exterior precast concrete walls.
“This year’s Innovation category shows how the industry continues to grow,” said Victoria K. Sicaras, editor of Concrete Surfaces. “Not so long ago, polished concrete meant warehouse and industrial floors. Now we’ve moved on to retail floors, countertops, residences, and precast walls”
“The winning contractors should be proud of their work,” added Sicaras.
